As of January 1, 2026, Samantha Bergey will assume the position of Chief Executive Officer of Affinity One FCU.
Samantha has served as Chief Operating Officer since April 2022 and brings more than a decade of service to AOFCU and its membership. Since joining the organization in September 2014, she has held several key leadership roles, consistently demonstrating strong operational insight, a deep commitment to member service, and clear vision for the future if the credit union.
Throughout her tenure, Samantha has played a critical role in strengthening internal operations, supporting staff development, and advancing AOFCU’s mission. Her leadership has been instrumental in positioning the organization for continued stability, growth, and innovation. Under her guidance, members can expect the same great service and steadfast dedication that have long defined AOFCU.
Outgoing CEO Melinda Best will continue with AOFCU throughout 2026 in a support and advisory capacity to ensure a smooth transition. Melinda has served the credit union for nearly 30 years and has been a true staple of the organization. With wisdom gained through decades of service, she knows it is the right time to pass the baton, and her insight will continue to benefit AOFCU during this next chapter. Melinda has also served as mentor to Samantha, and with the same heart for the mission and the members we serve. This thoughtful transition allows Melinda to begin moving toward retirement in 2027 while continuing to share her experience and wisdom with the organization.
